This poem was inspired by an old girlfriend that made me choose between the boat and her. She decided I could have both after I made my decision. I decided I only needed one after the ultimatum.

I still make my living during the winter with that old boat and I still love that old boat.

Don't forget to tell me what a piece of shit I am for not writing this poem about our sex life. lol

alone-

fishing so bad
can't hire a crew

times so tough
barely survive

sea so rough
barely afloat

long hard days
not wasted on her

The term refers to the prcseos both of producing (in the first place) the plans that you say you have, and more importantly the prcseos of reproducing these again in full size. Somewhere that is big enough to do it.Hence the term lofting' The term comes from the fact that, in boatyards, this prcseos is usually carried out in the boat-shed loft! Because this space provides the necessary large area, clear of clutter. Based on the reasoning that if the boat shed is big enough to build the boat in, then the boat shed loft should be big enough to construct the plans in!A small vessel like a kayak shouldn't present any problems. Your garage might be suitable, for example. The purpose of this is to produce a set of body plans' from which you can construct the vessel's hull. The body plan' is the end result. Your objective in the lofting prcseos. The prcseos is rather too technical to go into here in real depth but I shall at least try to summarise it so you can understand what is involved.

Not really stoic, more spiritual. No crew hassles and no other fisherman hassles. Just me, the old boat, enough crabs to survive, and the sea. Everyone should be as fortunate. They were satisfying times and are some of my favorite memories.

It's stoic, I guess.

The boat may leave you, but will never make you choose.
Stay with it and calm seas and following breezes. Good fishing.
